Sometimes there is the temptation to want everyone to like us. I know this is an area where I struggle. Yet enemies are going to be common anywhere we go. People will misunderstand us, impugn our motives, or just flat out disagree with us.
In these Psalms, David never asks God to make his enemies like him. Nor to stop the attacks from the enemies. He asks rather to have God be his shelter, his defender, and the one who puts his life together. We'd be wise to ask for the same.
